Cleanliness

I am not a germaphobe like many people in my profession, because I believe that exposure to most things is a healthy way to immunize ourselves against things....but at work the other day I was checking in children's DVD's and all 10 of the returned DVD's was covered in something so sticky the movies were all fused together! And shortly before that I had pulled a book out of the book return and the entire back of the book was covered in things that are beyond description....the only thing I could identify was the booger on the back. Now we come to my main question: "WHAT THE HECK KIND OF PARENT LETS THEIR KID SNOT ALL OVER THE BACK OF A LIBRARY BOOK AND NOT CLEAN IT OFF?!" Ok....I feel somewhat better. :) My next question goes back to the fused DVD's mentioned earlier. I can understand, somewhat, the snot covered book, because maybe the mom just didn't know about it, but when an adult brings this stack of DVD's in and drops them in the book return all stuck together how can you just blow that off!? Does cleanliness not matter to anyone anymore?
